Hi everyone,I was given a lap top with windows 95 on but I prefer to work with windows 98, is there anyway I could keep some of the programs like excel and powerpoint and also all the driver files before I reinstall windows 98. I would very much appreciate your input. Please advice Thank you.

I don't know of a way to save programs as such. You should be able to pick up a copy of Office 97 on Ebay for about a tenner.

Windows 95 drivers may not be valid for a windows 98 Op system. but you can see what files are used by going to device manager select the item req i.e. modem and select proeties and driver file details. Copy these files to a seperate file on the hard drive.

If you upgrade to 98 rather than wipe 95 and install 98 from fresh, then the excel word etc should still work ok.
