Windows 7 DELL Check Disc.

  Input Overload 20:14 20 Dec 2009

After having the Win 7 upgrade disc for a couple of weeks I decided to run the disc that DELL supplies to upgrade.

My PC is a month old DELL which is high spec. The disc tells me I have no Processor, no RAM, insufficient hard drive - I have 2 TB. And the 1 GB graphics card is insufficient also. In fact nothing on my PC is up to the min spec. The PC runs beautifully on Vista, anyone else had this issue before I phone DELL tomorrow? It offers to use Windows Clean up to gain more space! The disc has all the Win 7 drivers etc on also.

Why not run the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

I phoned DELL & they said my PC is fine for Win 7 as it's identical to the model they sell with 7 on.

The suggestion was made I restore my Vista to factory settings & they try the Upgrade Disc.

Sea Urchin I ran the MS program & that came up with an unknown error so there is probably some software on my PC messing things up.

I have several Acronis Images so doing a factory restore isn't a problem. Thanks.
