Despite trying various methods using the command prompt I seem unable to be able to register the file MSCOMCTL.OCX file. Command prompt will not find the systemWOW64 folder which is there AND contains the file mscomctl.ocx file. Any ideas please

Op system? 64 or 32 bit?

if 32 bit then the file is in c:\windows\system32

The file is located in sysWOW64 folder under windows and is visible as I am on 64bit

Command prompt will not find the systemWOW64 folder..............

That's odd. Try this instead: Hold down the shift key, right-click on that folder and choose "Open command window here".

Yes I got C:\Windows\sysWOW64

Yes I got C:\Windows\sysWOW64

That's the idea. When you try to register that DLL Command Prompt should complain it can't find the folder ;)

I have just put this command in CD prompt regsvr32 c:\windows\sysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx and it registered.

However, I am still in trouble as when opening Radar Contact [a flight sim atc programe I am still getting the Box with the red X saying component mscomctlor one of its dependenciesis not correctlyregistered: a fileis missing or invalid
