Windows 2000 freeze

  Muckle 00:26 11 Feb 2005

I've just done a clean install of Win 2K on a friend's PC after fitting a new 80gig hard drive. The PC has a 700mhz Celeron, 192mb RAM and PCI graphics. Win 2K installed without a hitch, but won't get past the starting up screen when booted. I have left it for 40 mins and there seems to be occasional hard disk activity (a short flash of the led on the case) and now I don't know what to do - any suggestions?

First you need more ram i run 500mb secound if you have a USB card and your printer scanner or DSL modem is plugged into the card unplug them and W2000 should boot.
I have my older computer running W2000 and the only way i can boot is put a USB hub into the
USB card and it must be powered up to work.
You also require starter pack 4 download for starters plus the remainder comes to over 65mb.
