Windows 10 cannot be installed onto this disk

I have got part way through the installation process and I received this message ..

"Windows 10 cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GP disks."

This is a new install onto a new laptop with only FreeDos.

Can anyone tell me how to get past this message.

Many thanks

You will need to convert the hard drive to GPT for Windows 10 to install. See here for information, click here.

There's lots on the web about this problem, and rather than go through all the alternatives I will post some of the better links I have found.

You might get away with checking if the UEFI has a legacy mode that will allow 10 to install on an MBR disc, though.
