WinDisk & HD Failure

A short while ago I posted click here on the subject of a WinDisk message that meant nothing to me.

Well, it does now as I had a drive fail completely. I still have no knowledge of where the message originates (Windows or some other software I put on from a PCA disk) but if I see it in the future I shall be more aware that it could mean a problem brewing.

Hopefully my experience may help anyone else who finds a similar, unexpected log in his/her Documents & Settings folder.

You could very easily be spot on. I have the cover disk from Computer Buyer (January 2005) which contains Utility Sute 8.0 and I did have it installed at some point but uninstalled it in preference to other individual utilities - one of these should have been an equivalent to WinDisk in hindsight!

Thanks for pointing it out.
