I am having problems with my W2K Pro (NTFS)with corrupted files etc, so I have decided to do a clean install.
I have downloaded a DOS 6.22 boot disk program to format the C Drive but it will not write to the floppy a: drive. The floppy drive will only read from BIOS boot so I have a problem.

How do I format the c: drive and can I boot the W2K straight from CD without a floppy boot sequence?

You need to boot into the BIOS/Setup and set the first boot device to cd.

To format the hard drive boot with the pc and choose the recovery console. Type in

format C:

then reboot with the pc and load windows.

Under the circumstances you describe it should be possible to put the Win2K CD in and it should autorun.
If this is the case youu should be able to format your drive using the utilities on the Win2K CD
