Win xp disk

I heard a few weeks ago that you can make an xp disk that has sp2 on if you machine runs it already therefore negating the need to add all the patches etc. I have the original disk but it would need 84 separate updates that where seen on the other machine I recently made. So rather not have to spend hours updating the system just for windows. Also the fact that SP2 leaves lots of excess files would be another pro. So simply how do I do this?
