Do you know the administrator password.

If one wasn't set just hit ENTER otherwise you'll need that password.

when you say just hit enter, do I type in chkdsk /p or just keep hiting enter 3 times. Either way doesn't work and loops boot

Have you been able to successfully enter the password?

"select 1 for C:/ drive then type in CHKDSK /P which keeps asking me for a Administrator Password. "

It should ask for the password first before you can type in CHKDSK /P

I boot with a WinXP CD and choose R for the Recovery console.

I then have to choose the Windows destination which is 1. C:\

So I type in 1

It then asks for a Administrator passowrd (remember this is Dos)

There is no password set or known. But no matter what you type I get invalid password.

"There is no password set or known. But no matter what you type I get invalid password."

If there is no password then just hit ENTER.

Otherwise there must be a password. Withut it you can't get any further.
