WIN 98 USB PROBLEMS

Have just reinstalled windows 98 after Hard Drive Formatt, But i cant get any device connected via USB to work, Have i missed something obvious please...

Did you mean Win98 as this does not support USB.
Win98SE (Second Edition) is required for USB.

Know the feeling !. By the way you do need a driver for 98SE if you require USB2 support.

Each USB device must have its own drivers installed into Win98SE.

Once the first is installed, the process seems to go crazy for a while as Windows gets organised on sorting its USB bus.

Then if you have say a PCI to USB2 card, its drivers can be installed and the cards ports will then work as USB 2 for any of your gadgets that can use the higher transfer speed

Go into Device Manager and delete the USB items from bottom of list and start from the bottom as there will be more than one then reboot and try your USB. You may have to load drivers for a Device
