Win 2K Stop Message

  johngun1 19:05 05 Jun 2004

I am trying to install a hard drive with Win 2K installed on it, to a machine that had Win 95 on a different H/D previously.
With only the Win 2K drive installed (worked fine in other machine) when I boot it up I get a stop error message telling me I have a hard disk problem and to run chkdsk /F.
I have tried this on two H/Ds but get the same response with both. I suspect that it may be related to the BIOS set-up of the machine but don't know what.
Can anyone help?

On NEW dissc take note of Cyls, heads and sectors. Install win 2k disc boot into BIOS auto detect disc if poss, if not then insert as user pputin cyls heads sectors. Save and exit BIOS.

Reboot Should now boot as old comp into win2k if op system not corrupted.
