I am running Windows XP.When I click "Switch off computer" the computer restarts then goes through a check for disk consistency. This happens every time.

Is this a computer you have built yourself or upgrade/added anything yourself ?

Any brand model of the pc also may help ?.

I have recently fitted a PIKAONE DVD-R/RW combi.
My system is self built approx 2 years ago.

This brand I have never heard of, I would check the software/driver and update where necessary also try a different IDE and make sure Pin1 is to Pin one at both ends of the Drive-Motherboard also how is the drive configured, Slave, Master, HDD Slave ?

Disconnect the drive and put everything back to normal does the looping/reboot still occur ?
