Wi-Fi from mains

I hope somebody can help me.

At work I have no signal on the phone and there is no wifi network available to connect to. I was just wondering if there is anything cheap(ish) that I can buy to give me wifi without buying broadband and a router etc.. Or if there is any other way of giving me some sort of wifi connection to connect my phone to during the day.

Thanks in advance!

Is there no signal from any network at all, or just no signal from your particular phone network provider? If you can get a signal from another network, you could invest in a wi-fi dongle that would pick up the phone signal and deliver wi-fi to your phone. Of course, if you were going to do that, you might just as well change network providers... But other than this, I think the simple answer to your question is 'no'.

"At work........and there is no wifi network available to connect to....."*

Is there a wired network available? If there is then plug in one of these (with your employer's permission of course) into any available Ethernet port to create your own mini wireless network.
