Why the diffrence burning normal disc/wma disc?

I recently bought a new car stereo which plays mp3/wma as I wanted to get more tracks on a disc. So I burnt roughly 100 tracks via WMP including some tracks bought including DRM. When it plays it skips the DRM tracks and plays only tracks with no DRM.

But the when I used to burn the same tracks (but only getting 10 or so on a disc) the DRM tracks played fine??, Whats going on?

Thanks in advance.

Your PC has the certificate to play/manipulate the tracks, it decoded them into .wav format for the CD. Your hifi doesn't have that certificate so won't decode the files.

Easy work around is to burn `troublesome` tracks to CD and rip them back to the PC again, this time DRM free. You will lose some quality though.

Thanks for that, Im still confused as to why the same DRM tracks played fine when burnt as an audio cd on the same stereo but wont play when burnt as an data disc, the only diffrence being there is more tracks on the disc?, oh well thanks for your help.
