Which Wireless Network Option

  Confab 16:10 08 Sep 2004

I will shortly be buying a Belkin ADSL modem with wireless router to connect two pc’s and a laptop to the net.

I can connect all the computers to the router via wireless cards or I have the option of connecting one to the router with a standard PCI card. Could you let me know if there is any advantage (apart from cost) in connecting one pc with a standard network card (not wireless).

Thanks in advance

Connecting the main PC via a wired ethernet LAN card
is a faster connection than wireless and also more secure.

If or when you need to download a firmware update for your router it is better to have an ethernet connection to it than a wireless one to avoid the possibility of corruption.

Thnaks for the replies. I will connect my main PC via a wired ethernet LAN card as you both suggest.

Thanks again
