I would like to put some home video onto my hard drive and burn to CD.
Which is the best value card which will enable me to do this and where is the best place to purchase.

Don't give up so easily.

What format is the home video, digital camcorder, VHS video, analogue camcorder or similar? We would need to know what sort of input you are using.

Also you say you wish to burn to cd. Are you hoping to play the disk in a DVD player. If so what format do you want to burn in. VCD and SVCD are the usual ones. SVCD is the better option but few DVD players will play this format. Most players will play the VCD option, but you loose a lot of the quality.

The way I burn to VCD and SVCD from a digital camcorder is.

I bought a retail Tekram PCI firewire host adaptor. This came with a firewirecard, cable and Pinnacle S.E. software. This enables me to do video editing and burn to CDR disks. The cost was about £25.
