Which SSD for a SATA 2 port?

  Gummomarx 20:13 20 Dec 2018

I'm thinking of installing an SSD to my 10 year-old desktop PC. I'd like to save money by avoiding paying for speeds that my SATA 2 port can't attain.

Any thoughts?

What you're looking for doesn't exist with current SSDs.

Even though your PC is only SATA2, the increase in performance will still be significant.

False economy buying a Sata 2 300 SSD, if you can still buy one, SATA 3 drives are priced quite reasonable, agreed you wont get all the bandwidth, however an older ssd will have an older controller technology and wear leveling. You may also want to re purpose the drive in something else later.
