Which Media discs?

Hi all ive recentley purchased a Samsung 8x +/- DVD/RW Slim Portable External.

i am really uncertain which discs i need to buy,i mainly want them for putting home movies/videos on,preferably reusable,eg.like the old type vhs tapes,once viewed u can delete and re-use the disc,hope this makes sense.

You want either DVD+RW or DVD-RW disks. Unlike CD-RW, DVD has 'plus' and 'minus' formats, but your drive supports both. My preference is for DVD+RW (and DVD+R "single use") disks as I've found them to be more reliable.

If you intend to play them on a standalone DVD player (attached to your TV for example)then make sure the DVD player can play -RW or +RW DVDs

A good brand like say Verbatim is a good one brand more important than + or - also -more universal for use on other players and R preferable over RW .Of course in your case Rw's are needed but be prepared for possible failures after a few uses
