Which laptop to buy - SSD or HDD for video editing

I'm looking to buy a laptop for my kids, which will mainly be used to edit video, just basic stuff (using Hitfilm Express) as they want to start their own youtube channel. Budget is preferably under £500. I've read the differences between SSD and HDD, but not sure how much SSD would be needed for basic video editing. I've found a couple of laptops within budget -

HP 250 G6 15.6" Laptop Intel Core i3-6006U 8GB 256GB SSD and Lenovo IdeaPad 320 15.6 Inch i3 8GB 2TB HDD

No idea which to go for. I know SSD is much better, but not sure if the 256GB will be enough for our needs?

Thanks in advance

would have thought a big hard drive and plenty of RAM for video editing rather than a small SSD

Laptop Style i3 Processor would not be ideal for film processing

I'm with wee eddie - you need at least i5 processor and 8GB RAM. As already said large HDD much better than small SSD.
