I have a sata hdd and a sata dvd-rw, I want to install a IDE dvd-rom I have two IDE connectors on my mobo one is blue and one is black which one do I use and do I have to do anything in the bios to make it work, I was thinking of buying a sata dvd-rom just to fill one of the empty 5.25" drive bay slots but I might as well use the IDE connectors as I already have a IDE dvd-rom

The blue connector attaches to the motherboard.

The black connector attaches to the primary, or master, drive.

The gray connector attaches to the secondary, or slave, drive.

Motheboard connectors
If you have 2 they should be marked IE1 IDE2 blue is usually IDE1
