Which hard drive size should I go for?

I'm buying a new computer but don't know much about hardware and I've got the option of a 250GB or 300GB hard drive. I do download a lot of films, music, tv shows and games and I do use my digital camera alot so I know I'd need one of the two. But I'm not sure which.

if you think you might need 300GB, get 500GB and think about your backup strategy too.

The biggest you can afford. If the only option is the two you mention, then go for the 300Gb.

I agree with 100andthirty...I would also suggest an external USB hard drive for backups. Again, the highest capacity you can afford.

go for a 1tb

The bigger the drive the better UNLESS it goes belly up! If you haven't got it yet get Acronis True Image and do regular back ups.

Go for the one that has a better seek time of either 5400 or 7200 or 10000rpm.
And then use external USB drives for backups or burn to a CD-R or DVD-R disc.
