Which Firewall?

  Angry Kid 16:00 18 Jul 2007

I currently use Zone Alarm (Free) and have done so for some time now.

However, I have read about PC Tools Firewall Plus (Free)and wondered how this compared to Zone Alarm.

Has anyone any experience of it, and generally what are your thoughts?

Is it worth changing, as I know PC Tools products are highly regarded.

If ZA does all you want, why change.
I run ZA on one computer and Comodo on the other, they both do the job well.

If it aint broke...dont fix it !

ZA will serve you just fine once you understand the allow/deny prompts.

Zone alarm is tried and tested and if your happy stick with it, better the devil you know.

I changed from zone alarm to comodo firewall which is a free download.I gave up on zonealarm as it was very slow to load at start up and resource hungry, whereas comodo is lightening fast.I find comodo is superb all round and would never go back.
Oh,i am on xp.

Thanks for your posts.

I am happy with ZA.

However, I was just interested in other peoples comments.

After reading a review in another magazine I have decided to switch to Comodo and I am well pleased after carrying out leak tests.

Thanks again.

Have been using Comodo firewall for some time and think it's the best configurable one you can have.
Once you explore the firewall the amount of control you can have over it is exeptional compared to other free firewalls. Will take time to find what is what but worth the time.
