Which AntiSpyware Progs etc

  Angry Kid 21:26 27 Dec 2006

Evening everyone,

I am in the process of having an end of year 'tidy up' of my pc, and was wondering, which and how may antispyware progs you would recommend to keep. I have the usual culprits that are regulary mentioned on this forum, however, I would like to narrow it down to the 'best'.

Thanks to both of you for your postings.

VoG™, I have all these that you have mentioned, however, I am thinking this is overkill and should narrow down the list.

I am very happy with AVG Antivirus and Zone Alarm Free, and I am also aware that I need some other progs to cover me. Do I really need all these to be fully 'safe'? Which ones do you have and feel are necessary?

Thanks Angry ;)

ZA as firewall
Avast or AVG as antivirus (one only)

Defender as realtime scanner
Adaware as back up scanner
Spywareblaster as a blocker

these are sufficent to keep the nasties at bay even if you trawl a few unsavoury sites.

I have the setup that Fruit Bat /\0/\ has described with AVG Antivirus on my laptop the only addition I have on there is AVG Antispyware as well and I know my son uses it on some of the unsavoury sites.
