where you type in the web address, is this what is called the address bar? someone used my computer and after they left, i could no longer find the address bar. to visit a web page i now have to either press F11 and the address bar comes up and i lose other sections of the page or basically type what i want in a search engine and proceed from there.

how do i get back the address bar? i'm using windows XP

click on View menu, toolbars, and make sure address bar is ticked.

Sometimes the most awkward problems are the easiest to solve. But it's a sure bet that if it's something graphical you should be able to see. It can be solved somewhere in the View menu.

de marcus, were you tut tutting me because i didn't put a tick in as soon as possible? that's down to me being a new subcriber and unfamiliarity with the website, not can't be botheredness!!

No i wasn't tut tutting you at all, merely a suggestion with a link as to how to do it being s newcomer an all.
