Where to extract Direct X

Hi all i have just installed XP Pro SP1 on an old machine for a standby pc/backup i was trying to install direct X9 downloaded it,opened it,agreed to the terms and a box opens up asking me to type in the location where you want to place the extracted files,is there a certain place they should be placed??

Anywhere you like in a desktop folder would be fine.Then click on the set up icon.After it has installed you can delete the folder

If you really do need to tell it where to install to,it should be your system 32 folder within the Windows folder.
Or system 64,if it's a 64 bit operating system.
