what's the default gateway of a microsoft router?

The Default Gateway is the device providing the gateway to the internet. If you use a router, the Default Gateway for the PC's network adapter is the router and it is the router's IP address which is entered (although it would normally be allocated automatically by DHCP) in the Default Gateway setting.

The router itself will also get a Default Gateway address allocated to it by the ISP.

the default gateway is the machine or router that has direct access to the internet and allows other machines to connect to it

Example you have 3 machines connected to the internet via a router the routers ip adress is (example) 192.168.0.1

so that makes 192.168.0.1 is your default gateway that is the adress the other machines are looking to to gain internet access
