What is wow_helper.exe?

Zone Alarm has suddenly started throwing up warnings about "wow_helper.exe"

Seem to be mixed results on Google.

Some report it as malware, others say it is a normal process of Chrome, others tie it to World of Warcraft, a game I've never even played, let alone loaded.

Anyone give me a definitive steer please?

Googling, and searching for the file on my own PC, suggests it is associated with Adobe Reader. It has nothing to do with World of Warcraft.

Curiouser and curiouser!

Have you got Comodo downloaded that seems to cause some of the problems.

  morddwyd 11:12 06 Aug 2011

No. Use ZA and AVG.

Been using them for some years, the problem has appeared in the last week or so.

Are you using a 64bit version of OS? It seems to be linked to Google Chrome.

I hope you will pardon my nosiness, but what on earth is "ZA". Is it some backup or imaging programme. It's just that I see comments on here, like yours, that I don't fully understand so I just thought I would ask!! Sorry for breaking into your thread, I am just intrigued! Many thanks!

ZA = Zone Alarm a very good firewall.

'a very good firewall'

And free!

My apologies.

I have fallen into the very rude trap of using jargon in an open community.

AVG is pretty well universally known by its abbreviation AVG, but Zone Alarm isn't, and I've been around here long enough to know better.

Yes, using 64 bit

Think that it is part of Chrome.
