Hello there, i am currently looking to increaser the performance of a pc which has been given to me.
Its a P3 500, 256 SDRAM with an AOpen MX6B motherboard.

I need to increase speed overall really and was thinking about a new processor?
I don't know anything else can i buy one and simply plug it in?

Oh by the way i have around £120 to spend?

Thanks for your help!

You can upgrade the processor but not easily - the mobo will have a limit as to what it can support.

What will you do with the machine? Another 256mb RAM will make a difference as will a good graphics card if you are into gaming.

I dont know the max cpu tha can be used on thae mobo

you will need to look at mobo manual, it is an old bord, so you might already be at the max cpu you can have.

Adding more memory will help a little, I think it has to be pc 100 SDRAM for processors less than 900Mhz look at these links
