what type of cpu

i am planiing to get a flower cooler for my pc ,ruuning amd 850 mhz. can anyone tell what type of socket would this cpu have?

As on the quitepc website ,it say has to be a slot a? what is this slot a? and what are northbridge chipset?

what is your cpu - duron, athlon? this will affect wether it is slot or socket A. more likely than not yours will be the older slot A. the difference between the slot A and socket A is the shape of the socket and the amount of pins/their positions.

the northbridge chipset is just part of your motherboard which also requires cooling hence why it is discussed on that website. Not sure exactly what it does but i think it acts as a link between different components in your pc eg memory, cpu, i/o ports etc.
