What is the recycler folder?

I have a 80Gb drive partitioned into C: and D:
I've just noticed while using Easycleaner that there is a hidden folder called d:\RECYCLER that is taking up a huge amount of space.
Any ideas what this is and how to delete it?
Many thanks.

Recycle Bin.

Are you sure? My recycle bin is empty.
The 'recycler' folder contains a file called nprotect.log which I assume is something to do with Norton (which I don't use anymore but used to be on the pc over a year ago) and the rest are mp3 files.
Any idea how to delete?

Right click the recycle icon on your desktop. Pick properties and then global. Put a dot in " configure drives independantly". Now select the drive you want to work on. To reduce the size of the recycle bin, just move the slider. If you don't want to store in the recycle bin, just pick the " don't move files to the recycle bin " tick box. You won't be able to get rid of the norton thing though:-(

I managed to delete it and free up all the wasted space.
open the command prompt
navigate to d:type rmdir/s recycler
confirm action
