What is the path for Outlook Express E-mails?

Does anybody know what the path is to find e-mails in Outlook Express on my hard drive? On several occasions I have wanted to find my e-mails by using "Explore", but never manage to get to e-mail content. Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

You can't read the e-mail using explorer in the manner you ask.

You could back uop the file involved but they can only be read in OE.

What OS are you using??

open OE

Tools --> Options (new window will pop up)--> Maintainance tab.

On that tab will be a button Store Folder.

New window pops up with location that will look something like : C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{374R7CC0-A2BG-11D2-A182-A3C274F18127}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Right click it -> copy

go to Start --> Run --> paste into box and click ok.

That takes you to the INSIDE of the store folder.

This is where you copy everything for OE messages backup.

Whilst what MartinT-B says is correct, what Jester2K II said is also correct.

Emails are not stored as individual files, all the Inbox and other folders, are each a data base file with all the emails inside it. The only program which will open these data bases correctly is Outllok Express.

I'm running Win 98SE. How would I back up my address book in OE ? Will try Martin's Method of getting into mail also.
Thanks everyone!
