what mother board to buy

Hi all.I need to buy a new mother board but dont know what to buy.I have a p4 3.4 478 pin chip with a g-force 5700 fx graph card & 2x 512 ddr200 ram to put on.Can some one please give me some tips.

intel now uses socket 775 i think so if you want to upgrade your cpu aswell as your mobo then go for this socket.

if you want to keep your current cpu (and at 3.4ghz i would keep it for the mean time as its by no means slow) then i would keep your current mobo too unless its dead. why do you wish to upgrade it? there are lots of socket 478 boards to choose from if you need to. what do you want from the new mobo and what is your current board please?

sorry.I think its dead.I set it up with just the power unit speaker and chip but when i switched it on it made no beeps at all.I have tried the chip in another pc & that was ok.

The board was a gigabyte titan ga-8ipe1000 pro the 2004 gt edition
