Depends 32 bit max 4 but may depend on graphics mem. I think on most it,s around 3.2. Im running 64bit and have 8 on mine.

32-bit operating systems can use 3 - 3.5GB of RAM, 64-bit operating systems can use more than 4GB
Your Acer can take up to 2GB.

I am running 3 GB now.
Crucial says I need 64 bit to go higher.
Can I convert OS to 64 bit and how?

Check your disc see if it says both OS,s if not try microsofts site see if you can upgrade from there. may cost, don't know
