What Hard Drive Type?

I Have a MESH PC with an Asus A7N8X motherboard and a Maxtor6Y160PO hard drive. My Hard drive is almost full so I intend to add another drive. I'm not sure what type of drive I need, ie ATA, SATA, IDE ? How do I find out what type my existing drive is?....Does the new one Have to match?

Why not buy an external drive and then there will be no problems at all.

Google says Maxtor MAXTOR PLUS9 6Y160P0 160GB 7200RPM 8MB UDMA133

You need an ATA or IDE (sane thing).

You can check to see if the cable going to the drive is thick or thin - see click here Left is IDE / ATA, right is SATA

If you click on the name of your mainboard that you have posted( Asus A7N8X) it will take you to the asus site where you can click on the picture of your board (second one down) and you will see that it says DMA ata 133, so it is an IDE not SATA drive

Its not the Asus site but a shopping site and in the reading I also see that it says it has SATA, so it probably has both facilities IDE and SATA
