I have just started getting an error window entitled:-
1c8:qttask.exe - No disk
With the message:-
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR4.
I am running windows XP Home, 750Mb Ram, AMD XP2600 processor on a home built system that runs well (normally) since its build 4 months ago
This file is used by Quicktime. It is used by Quicktime in order to check for updates at the Quicktime.com site. In order to remove it from the system tray, perform the following steps:
1. Open Quicktime.
2. Select Edit > Preferences > QuickTime
Preferences.
3. The QuickTime settings box will open.
Select "Update Check" from the dropdown
menu.
4. On the bottom of the screen, you will
notice a checkbox for "Check for
updates Automatically", uncheck it and
close out Quicktime.
The QTTask.exe file will no longer start up.

Did you run a file on a removable disk using QuickTime?
I have not used quicktime as far as I am aware
I did omit to say that sometimes when I click cancel or continue the window is sometimes replaced by another very similar one stating the same apart from harddisk2/DR4 and this is sometimes replaced with harddisk3/DR5 ???? this then cancels and everything runs as should be
I tried your solution and unfortunately it is the same
Not so much resolved as much as the problem has gone, seems XP or my PC dont like Ipaq's
