I need to run sfc /scannow command in windows XP and it keeps insisting on me to insert my XP CD in the drive, however the CD is in the drive. I even tried it, in the other drive and still no go....and no matter how many times i click "Retry" it keeps wanting me to stick the CD in the drive.I have also copied the I386 folder to C: and changed the registry key "SourcePath" to make sfc/wfp look in the direction of C:\I386 but it still wants the CD in the drive.OEM evesham CD.CD cleaned and as everything installed "ok", i don't see why it will not accept the CD.Advice accepted on the grounds that you send me an Xmas card ;-)
Original Drive letter on the CD-RW drive was G. I changed this to Z later on.Changing it back to G allowed sfc to run without fuss.
I was just about to reply with the answer. Don't worry though, I'll still send the card. ;o)
