WEP 128 or WPA

  Nessie 21:47 15 Dec 2004

I have just bought a belkin modem router that allows WEP 128 or WPA. I think WPA is best but I dont seem to be able to set up WPA but WEP128 is fine. Does it matter. If I look in my Acer laptop in the properties section of the wireless network there is no WPA listed. Why. I have a fully updated XP Pro os. Any help would be great as I am a network virgin.

I agree with tomjerry but better is always a good way to go.There are programs out there (free ones ) to crake WEP keys (you might have a tech minded neighbor who is bored and like testing these things LOL)Did you check your wireless NIC for upgraded driver that supports WPA.
