Webtrap

Often when surfing the net I have the following message come up:

"Webtrap has caused an error in WEBTRAP.EXE. Webtrap will now close"

I have no option but to click on close, then the following message comes up:

"Explorer has caused an error in (unknown).
Explorer will now close."

Again, no option but to click on close and I am then thrown out of Explorer.

This happens quite frequently and I am becoming increasing frustrated by it.

Does anyone know what is happening and what I can do to cure it.

Thanks

Brians

Do you have PC-Cillin installed on yur PC?

From click here

WebTrap is a feature of Trend Micro's PC-Cillin antivirus software which integrates with your web browser and attempts to protect your PC from malicious Java or ActiveX code on the Internet pages that you access. WebTrap also enables you to block out specific URLs (web page addresses) which you do not want to access, whether wilfully or unknowingly. WEBTRAP runs on Win9x/ME while WEBTRAPNT runs on WinNT4/2000/XP.

Recommendation :
We have seen or received too many reports of intractable Internet browsing problems with this feature enabled, including from AOL Tech Support Engineers amongst others, so our advice has to be that you disable this feature from within your PC-Cillin antivirus software.
