Website Images appear as Red Crosses?

Some images on websites appear as red crosses in white boxed backgrounds, whilst everthing else seems okay? Using xp Home.

Any help please?

These images may be adverts. Perhaps you're using some ad blocking software?

It means that the coding used for the source file of image is incorrect. If path is incorrect the browser cannot locate image.

Go to IE's Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab. Scroll down to Multimeda and check Show All Pictures (in fact only disable the first and seventh boxes).

If this doesn't work then the above suggestions are probably the answer.

Does it happen on every web page? Can you see the PCADVISOR logo at the top of this page? If not then you may have some settings problems which Stuartli mentioned.
