Web site design with shopping facilities

I wish to design my own web site with shopping facilities to enable customers to shop online.
I already have electronic banking facilities, have a reasonable knowledge of site design, but need some help in the 'step by step' approach.
I use Dreamweaver, but are there any good books around that would take me through the process?

Thanks

Firstly, have a good scour around all the web trading sites you can to get a feel of what is done - and what shouldn't be done! From the one's you approve, try and emulate what they do and (most important) how they do it.

For some examples by people who really should know better click here

You say you have banking facilities. Discuss carefully with your bank before you proceed with this. It may be better to use a banking facility such a Paypal click here which, certainly in early days, can remove a lot of headaches about payments.

Remember that practical experience is a lot better than learning from a book!

Good luck with it
