at the minute we have our domain hosted with our current provider but will be transferring over to another company for our broadband & they have told me that they don't provide domain hosting. i am now a bit lost as to what to do to keep our domain working as they tell me if i don't transfer the domain it will stop working.
can anyone give me some advice on what to do next?

Try an independant hosting company, then you won't have this hassle again.

I use Awardspace - their free hosting is excellent - plenty of space and bandwidth, and no ads or pop-ups. You can also have free subdomains, which are typically much better than the name you get with an ISPs free space.

Do you have a proper domain name or do you use the ISPs somewhat awkward one? If you have a real name, who is it with?

Many registrants allow you to point your real name to another hosting service. If so you can easily set up a new free sub-domain with awardspace and point your real name to it.
