Web access

  123joey123 14:55 06 Jun 2007

Having solved one problem with my change of server I now have another.
I am told by my new URL to check access on the new server and I have done that successfully.
Then I am told to copy the attached file to my current web site.
Can anyone please instruct how to do that?
Thanks for all help

if they mean they want you to check your ftp program is working by uploading a small file to your area. What ftp program are you using?

what does the filename end in? Or what has it got in it if you can open it up?

. Redirect your current web site to the new server as follows:

a) Copy the attached file to your current web site

b) This will over write your current index page so make sure you have

a backup

This is how it was sent

It sounds as if your domain name is being hosted in one place, and your web site in another, and the file you're being asked to upload is connected with that.

Something isn't making sense, however, because if you overwrite your index page your site will cease to work - a visitor's web browser will find any file called .index and display it.

What is this file called - give us the full name, complete with the suffix (the part after the dot).

You are right. The site was served by kdinternet.
Now the main district site is taking over.KDinternet is timed out this week.
The kdinternet name was click here
The new one is click here.
I can download the new one by going to-click here.
Though that is changing tomorrow to click here
the only file I can think of is -http:domain1331378.sites.fasthosts.com
Bit of a mystery
