want printer to print Black only

  unitedman 19:38 11 Mar 2010

I run windows vista and I only want my printer to print black only,
I have gone onto control panel -> printers but cannot see any way to select this option

On most printers there is an option in the printer's properties to use only the black cartridge.

what about properties of your printer? mind you it might be helpful to know what make/model etc

I agree with karmgord - cheap laser printer - spoilt for choice these days !

  Woolwell 22:38 11 Mar 2010

Which model Lexmark?

It could be called grayscale.

No greyscale settings-- Cheap laser printer may be the answer----any recommendations?

Is rare for an inkjet - because the 'black' is a sort of greenish grey that enhances the other colours, so to get black all four /6 colours need to print.
But this depends on the model so 'properties' in the printer screen will tell you if it can or not - as already suggested.

A cheap colour laser that will also do black only .
I have recently purchased a Dell 1320c complete with 2 sets of cartridges from click here Computers .com
for 140. odd
Third party refills are cheap too from other sources typical £12/17 each
