System 7 an elderly Epson scanner Dell colour laser

Copying a black document results in blue prints.which is getting it wrong-system ,scanner or printer?

I had the same thing happen although it was an inkjet not a lazer. Re-installing the software fixed it in my case.

Yes, I was going to suggest re-install the software, or (if the facility exists) recalibrate the scanner.

Scan in Greyscale or lineart - not colour

Pondering this , I concluded as follows ,disregarding today's 'All in one' printers that can work 'standalone' independent of a computer. A separate scanner through computer to printer set up will create a Jpeg file in so doing the scanner will 'pickup' the UVwhitener added to modern paper and will deliver a 'bluey'image so perhaps an image editor could come into play. Another session perhaps a scan/copy/print through 'Paint shop' or similar tto colour correct/scan in monochrome could be an answer.
