Everytime I start my pc I get messages saying that the following files are missing:
vredir.vxd
dfs.vxd
msnp32.dll
I have managed to find on the interent, vredir.vxd and msnp32.dll and have downloaded them - where do I now put them? Where can I find the missing file?

Have you run System File Checker from Run (SFC) - if you have Windows of course?

PS

If you run SFC it will find any missing files from your Windows CD-ROM.

All three files go into:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

'dfs.vxd' you will find on your win98se cd-rom in 'NET9.cab'if you run 'sfc' as stuartli has suggested you should find all three with no problems..........(famous last words)

Hope this helps.

I keep a copy of the Win98 system files on my hard drive.

It's much quicker than using the CD-ROM.

Just create a Win98 (or whatever version you use) folder in Windows and copy the system files across from Explorer with the CD-ROM in your drive.
