hi, Acer vista laptop , all of a sudden when booting up goes straight to recovery options, i choose the correct keyboard option first , then says choose which operating system ro repair, only windows vista OS are listed and can be repaired,, there is no operating system shown, underneath it says load drivers or next, when clicking next you can choose a recovery tool, no access is allowed into all except command prompt, and have run chkdsk, and startup repair, but states it cannot repair this computer automatically, any suggestions please

Can you boot the "Last Known Good Configuration"?

Immediately after powering on, tap the "F8" key until the Boot Menu is displayed and then select the "Last Known Good Configuration". If that has worked, you can then run System Restore back to a time when the computer was running reliably.
