Vista to XP Home Network

  Kilty 11:00 04 May 2009

I have set up my home network on a Vista and an XP machine using the wizard, seyying both machines to workgroup.

I can access the files from the XP machine via the vista, but am unable to access the Vista via the XP. I can see the shared drive, but when I click on it I get an access denied message. Is there a setting in Vista I need to change?

I have set Vista to allow file shring and disabled the firewalls in both machines.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You probably require to set up the sharing permissions in your document folders.Right click on the folder in My Computer , select properties. In the sharing tab got share and Advanced share and make sure the sharing box is ticked. then in the security tab edit the permissions to allow full control.
