My processor is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+. Does that mean Vista Ultimate X64 will work on my PC? Thanks.

It should do check this click here to see if your PC is fully compatible.
Vista does require a more powerfull system, ie fast cpu loads of ram and good graphics card.
There are not as many drivers available for the X64 version. If you are going to play games it might be best to stick with the 32 version for now.

Hi, I agree with PSF, best stick to 32bit version.

I have done that test and it mentioned nothing about the number just that my pc was compatible. Also I do no gaming.

That should be ok then. Most programs are still written for 32bit operating systems. The 64 bit version will work with 32 bit programs. All your older s/w 'should work'. In time there will be more 64 bit programs and they will then work more efficiently with the 64 bit version.

Read this article all the way through, you will then be in a better position to decide for yourself whether to instal 64bit or 32bit.
