vista sp1 update pc will not start up now

ok did the update the update froze half way through....on some sort of a dos screen re started but pc wont recover any ideas just keeps saying unable to start

Try starting the computer in safe mode then if it starts do a system restore to a time before the update

Start into SAFE MODE

1/As your computer starts but before Windows launches, press F8 repeatedly.
2/Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
3/If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.
Note: If Windows launches before you can choose a safe mode, restart your computer and try again
PS/ Sometimes it maybe the F5 key

many thanks i dont get a safe mode it just says windows recovery then says start up repair searching for problems, checking disk errors unable to repairi thought i should be able to do a restore to befoure the fault occured.

ok got it it says startup repair,system restore,recovery manager,comand promt,mem diag tool,complete restore iv chosen system restore hope it works.

ok returned pc to factory defaults but sp1 keeps freezing on install any ideas

Try downloading sp1 direct from Microsoft and install
