What exactly do the anti-virus software that we purchase do that the free versions wont do!
Do any of you guys actualy buy any or just make do with all the free versions that are around, can we safely have years trouble free just with free versions!

I use Avast. It's free and it works. I started on the basis that I would use "free" until I had a problem. That was many years ago. I've used AVG for many years but found Avast easier to use in that it just gets on with things by itself

It's probably important to stress that I don't just rely on anti virus software

The system also has Zone Alarm, Spywareblaster, Spybot search and destroy, and Ad-aware. All these are the free versions too

Touch wood, I've yet to have a problem
